Active Directory provides the directory services within a Microsoft network and is deployed on Microsoft servers in a redundant and fault tolerant configuration. This course introduces Active Directory based on the most current server platform. Topics include DNS, logical structure of Active Directory (Forest, Domains, Organizational Units, and Sites), Domain Controllers, operation masters and server roles within Active Directory, replication services, back-up and recovery, and certificate services, students create and configure Active Directory objects using various tools to provide support for users and groups. Prerequisites: CITX 2165 or experience with Microsoft server platforms. (3 Credits)
