Visit our Climbing wall, located in the racquet court lobby of SE16, to see what all the talk is about. Our Student Staff are there to assist you to safely manoeuvre the 20’ wall. They are a wonderful inspiration, not just belaying you up and down but also showing you climbing techniques. The Climbing wall is a great place to hang out - lots of new routes going up all the time - come meet our wonderful climbing staff who can show you the ropes!
Climbing wall drop-in
For the experienced climber, or individuals who want to explore climbing, these drop-in times offer an inexpensive opportunity to get some time on the wall. Experienced climbers, who are BCIT belayed certified, may climb independently or with their partners. Inexperienced climbers will be belayed up and down the wall safely by our trained climbing wall staff.

Open booking times
Whenever the climbing wall is not in use for drop-in times or lessons, individuals (min. two people) may book the room to climb. Both participants must be BCIT belay certified.

Introduction to Climbing
This course teaches the skills needed to climb independently indoors. Participants will learn the safety systems of belaying, basic knot tying, and climbing movement in this hands-on class. Call the Recreation Program Office at 604.432.8612 to book your session.

Belay test
The belay test is a 10 to 15 minute test given to experienced climbers who want to climb independently. Call the Equipment Office at 604.432.8612 to book your test.

Party bookings
The climbing wall is available for groups of eight or more to book for parties. Two hours with belaying is provided. Bookings must be made one week in advance and are subject to staff availability.
