Welcome to BCIT Part-time Studies!

This web page has been created to provide new and returning part-time students with important information on how to access administrative and other services at BCIT.

Your myBCIT account

A personal myBCIT account has been created for you, which includes your own email address @my.bcit.ca. You will use this portal to access various student self-services:

• Receive administrative information from Admissions, Registration and other BCIT offices
• View registration information and course schedule
• Print a receipt for course fees paid
• Update personal information
• Use your my.bcit.ca email account
• Access online courses (if applicable)
• View assignment marks and final grades
• Print an unofficial transcript
• Print your T2202A tax receipt
• View campus bulletins and other important information

And more!

Go to myBCIT to access your account. Log-in using your BCIT ID (A00...#) and initial password (your date of birth: YYMMDD).

BCIT library services

Part-time students have full privileges at the BCIT Library for the duration of their courses. You can borrow materials using your BCIT ID card, access online articles and books, and use the study space, including group project rooms and the ehPod computer lab which is open 24/7. The Learning Commons offers free peer tutoring, conversation groups, seminars and writing support. There is also an online Library Guide to help Distance and Online students find the information they need. Visit the Library website for more information.

Classroom locations are posted online prior to the course start date. Locations can be subject to change, so be sure to check the listing before arriving on campus.

Check out parking information including rates, parking pass options and lot locations. Be sure to arrive early on the first night of your class!

Textbooks & course materials

The BCIT Bookstore will have the books and materials you'll need for your course approximately six weeks before it starts. You can order in a number of ways:

Used books? Learn more about the Bookstore's textbook swap where you can post your textbooks for sale, and browse textbooks for sale from other students.

Software? Academically priced, full version software available at the Bookstore.

Distance & online learning

Students who have registered in a distance or online learning course, be sure to:

• Order all course materials and books from the Bookstore*
• Review your course information email, sent prior to the course start date
• Log into your online course via your myBCIT on the course start date
• Browse the Distance & Online Learning website for further resources

*Note that if you plan to purchase your materials in person at the Burnaby campus, please contact the Bookstore in advance to ensure availability.

Fees, refunds & withdrawals

Learn more about BCIT's Part-time Studies fees and refunds. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the refund deadline date policies, should you require to drop or transfer.

Important information on withdrawals

Even if you have missed the refund or withdrawal deadline, it is very important to notify BCIT of your intent to withdraw. In many cases, a Late Withdrawal may be an option. Failure to withdraw formally can affect your permanent academic record - including your GPA and your ability to qualify for awards and recognition in the future. If you have any questions, please contact Student Records at 604-432-8498.

Submit your program declaration application, transfer credit or certification. For more details, ask an Advisor.
