BCIT faculty and staff: underneath that professional exterior of yours lies a superhero. You know it. We know it. You work day after day, week after week, on your own and as part of your team to make BCIT the best it can be.
You may not squeeze into a phone booth to change, nor leap tall buildings in a single bound. But you use your knowledge and skills here every day for the greater good.
On Wednesday, February 25, 2009, you honed your powers and gained new ones at BCIT's (Superhero) Professional Development Day.
With nearly 1,100 participants, it was one of our largest PD Days yet! Visit the highlights page, and read the PD Day feature story on BCIT's Update Newsletter blog. Also see close to 200 photos of the day: maybe there's one of you!
BCIT’s all-staff Professional Development Day is a full-day event, held on the last Wednesday in February. Staff choose from more than 60 sessions, organized into several learning themes. The day features a keynote speaker, a lunch session, and varying exhibits. The purpose of PD Day is to build a learning community – an opportunity for staff to learn, mingle, gain a fresh perspective, and rejuvenate.
Your comments and suggestions are very important to us. Contact the PD Day Steering Committee.
