Sample careers to consider:
As a millwright, you will install, repair, overhaul and maintain all types of machinery and heavy mechanical equipment. You will work from plans and blueprints and install equipment and align parts or components. Millwrights also maintain and repair machinery as required, learning how to use grinders and lathes to make custom parts if necessary.
As a joiner you will have the skills to create beautifully crafted furniture, funky cabinets, stunning boat interiors and fancy store fixtures. You may find yourself working with construction companies, cabinetmakers, and furniture manufacturers where you will be working in a workshop, at a construction site, or perhaps on the floor of a manufacturing plant.
As an automotive technician, you will have the skills to examine vehicles to find out what needs to be fixed and to estimate repair costs. You will repair damage or perform preventive maintenance on the mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of cars, inspect the completed work and test that the vehicle's performance meets required standards.
