Educational Technology Support
The Learning & Teaching Centre has a staff of skilled educational technology experts who support online course development and delivery and the use of a number of educational technologies:
- Desire2Learn (D2L) offers course content, collaboration, communication, and assessment. Take a guided tour of D2L: log in with your BCIT ID, then click the blue button at the top right.
- Elluminate Live! is a web-based application that allows Instructors and Students to connect, collaborate, and learn. It allows remote, real-time, media-rich presentations that can be recorded, as well as participant moderation and tracking and small group collaboration. The tool also features:
- polls
- quizzes
- two-way audio
- text chat
- web-cam video
- application sharing
- file transfers
- interactive whiteboards
- Respondus offers exam, test, quiz, and survey uploading to D2L; Respondus StudyMate offers games (fact or flash cards, fill in the blank, matching, glossary, crossword, etc.) on a stand-alone web page, or to add to a Desire2Learn module.
Instructors, course developers, and administrators:
- If you would like to offer a new program or course online, or want to enhance your course or program with educational technology, please contact your Instructional Development Consultant (IDC) School Liaison.
