Course outlines give learners details on course delivery, evaluation, and learning outcomes. For a
45-hour course, there are usually 6 to 10 outcomes. In trades, DACUM (Develop a Curriculum) charts, which group specific
job tasks into teachable chunks, are often used with or instead of
course outlines.

Lesson plans are based upon the course's learning outcomes, which are part of the course outline.
If you plan to use educational materials such as texts or readings, you must make sure they are in the
BCIT Bookstore before first class, as BCIT faculty are prohibited from selling directly to students.
BCIT Resources
If you are using course materials developed by others, you need to ensure that you are respecting copyright restrictions. Luckily, at BCIT, copyright experts can support you every step of the way.
