Technical Infrastructure Services

Technical and Infrastructure Services builds and maintains data and storage area networks with attached server platforms. This infrastructure reliably underpins the Institute’s Education and Administrative networks and its successful web and application architecture.

Objectives

• Build and maintain a reliable, secure network infrastructure for all BCIT campuses. 
• Provide and maintain scaleable data storage with ample backup and recovery facility for Institute data.
• Deliver server platforms quickly and reliably. Exploit economies of scale in server management. Seek consolidation avenues, where appropriate.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies.

Primary responsibilities

• Install and maintain the server platform and operating system.
• Design, build and manage BCIT’s computer networks.
• Allocate and maintain BCIT’s storage area networks
• Back up and, where required, recover Institute data.
