Awards from your home countryInternational students are encouraged to contact their own government educational offices for information regarding scholarships and awards that are available to students studying abroad. External awardsExternal Awards are scholarships, bursaries, and awards that are not administered by BCIT, and may be available to international students. Students are responsible for inquiring about specific criteria and procedures, and applying through the agency in the award description. These awards are usually also available to students. Current studentsIn addition to external and home country awards, international students may be eligible for BCIT Awards, including the International Student Award. This is an award of $1000 CDN given to one or two students who achieve an 80 percent average in the first year of their program while maintaining a full-time course load. The award is based on achievement, as well as involvement in the class, school, or community. ScholarshipsBCIT Technology scholarships varying from $100 to $3000 CDN are awarded to Technology students who achieve the highest standing in the first year of their program while carrying a 100 percent course load. No application is necessary. Graduating awardsBCIT Graduating Awards are presented to two-year diploma program graduates who obtain the highest standing in the final year of their program while carrying a 100 percent course load.
