Full-time Program Application
To apply to a full-time program at BCIT, please carefully follow the steps below.
All BCIT programs have different entrance requirements.
You will be required to submit all required documents to BCIT by mail (post) immediately after applying.
Five Steps to Program Application
1: Choose your full-time program
You need to know what specific program you want to study before you apply.
2: Determine if you meet your program’s entrance requirements.
- To find a program's entrance requirements, visit the specific program's webpage, and select the “Program Entry” link from the menu on the right of the program page.
- If you meet all of your program’s entrance requirements, proceed to Step 3.
- If you do not meet your program’s English entrance requirements, BCIT offers courses and programs to help upgrade your English skills.
- If you do not meet any other entrance requirements (Math, Chemistry, Physics etc.) you have 2 options:
- Upgrade your skills in the country you currently reside in.
OR
- Upgrade your skills at BCIT.
3: Collect all of your program’s required documents.
- Certified English translations must be submitted with non-English transcripts.
- All applications to a BCIT full-time program require a credit card payment of $150.00 CDN.
- If you require your foreign education to be evaluated, you must submit your credential to the International Credential Evaluation Service.
- You must send BCIT the following documents immediately after you apply:
- Official Transcript(s) or Progress Report(s) showing progress or completion of entrance requirements.
- All of your program’s “Additional Requirements” documents.
4: You’re close! First read the following:
Rare originals?
- If your transcripts were issued from sources outside Canada are irreplaceable and you need to get your originals back from BCIT, you may request these documents be returned to you. Submit a stamped, self-addressed envelope along with your request
When will I know BCIT has received my application?
- Whether you apply by mail, in person or online, you will receive an Acknowledgement Letter from BCIT within one week of your application.
- The Acknowledgment Letter will confirm we have received your application, and will provide information about your new myBCIT.ca account.
How long will it take for BCIT to review my submitted documents?
- Please allow for 4-6 weeks for BCIT to access and process all of your submitted documents.
What if my Study Permit has expired or will expire soon?
How do I communicate with BCIT after I apply?
- After you apply, emails will notify you that official communication between you and BCIT Admissions have been posted to your new myBCIT.ca account.
- Your official letter of acceptance will also be mailed to your home address. This official letter must be presented when applying for a Canadian Study Permit.
- Until you receive an official letter of acceptance from BCIT, please continue to check your myBCIT.ca account regularly to accelerate your application process.
5: Submit your application.
You have three different ways to submit your application to BCIT. The choice is yours!
By mail:

In person:

- Prepare all your forms and materials
- Come visit us in person. View locations and hours.
Online:
NOTE: Before you can apply online, you must first create your new mybcit.ca account
- Create your new BCIT ID and password!
- Be sure to have credit card ready. You will need to pay for your application fee online by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.
- Don’t worry! You can save an incomplete application and return to it later.
- Ready? Create your new account.
- Apply online!
- Follow the online instructions after you've created your new account.
- Submit all your documents!
- Immediately after you have completed your application, you must submit all your required documents by mail to:

- Your required documents will be based on your program of choice. Always check your program requirements and ensure your have submitted all of your documents to accelerate your application process.
