BCIT's School of Health Sciences (the School) is a significant educational facility for nursing and health technology in the province. With the addition of a new three year nursing program, BCIT has become the single largest provider of nursing graduates in BC. But, its aging facilities are more than full, and do not provide the space required to train additional graduates to meet the Province's future needs. To meet this growing challenge, the School has developed a vision and a plan for its future development and programs that will provide the skilled human resources to help serve the province's growing and aging population. And, that vision can become a reality, fast.

Working from a new educational complex incorporating current technologies for local and distance learning, the School will provide outstanding opportunities developed in close partnership with health providers, the private sector, and other educational institutions. Building on its history of innovation, such as the first three year Baccalaureate of Nursing program in the province and extensive experience with distance education programming, the School will work with its partner organizations to apply the most current educational technology and equip its graduates to move into health care organizations fully prepared to assume their responsibilities.
