Health Care Management

Registration and Program Completion Checklist

Step 1: Plan your studies

On the Health Care Management department web site, read about the courses, programs, certificates offered, and FAQs.  The quickest way to obtain specific information about a course, such as textbooks, tuition fees, and start dates is by clicking on the course in the annual course schedule.

To take our courses we require you to have a minimum of 2 years of health care work experience, a two-year diploma or a degree in a healthcare professional field, or in business, information technology, or social sciences, and access to the Internet.

If you are unsure that you meet the entrance requirements, complete our online form.  This helps us to verify your educational background and work experience and respond to you within a week. During the week prior to the course start date, BCIT will process these forms as they are received.

Step 2: Enrol in your first course

Step 3: Application for Program Approval and Transfer Credit

After completing your first course, if you intend to complete an entire program and obtain a certificate, you must submit one of the Application for Program Approval forms shown below.  You can also use this form to apply for transfer credit.

To expedite processing, fax the completed form directly to the Health Care Management department, (fax: 604-434-3261) and mail original copies to BCIT Student Records.

When I began researching online programs in Health Informatics, to be honest, I was looking for a masters program. However, when I came across the program at BCIT I realized that the variety of courses offered was exactly what I was looking for! BCIT did not let me down. The courses have been extremely relevant to my work.
