Our online courses are highly specialized and are intended for people who have prior healthcare work experience.  If you are planning to enroll in any of our courses, you must satisfy the entrance requirements:

If you would like us to review your educational background and experience, and verify that you meet our requirements, please complete the form below.  After receiving confirmation from us, you can then register at your convenience for any of our courses while they are open for registration. 

This form is not identical to the Application for Program Approval which acknowledges your intent to complete a specific set of courses as part of a BCIT credential program.  If you need clarification about the difference between the verification process and the application for program approval process, please contact us at hcm@bcit.ca or phone 604.456.8087 (toll free 1.800.663.6542 ext 8087).

Entrance requirements

Do you have either a two-year diploma or four-year degree in the health care field?
Is English your first language? required

The minimum standard for English is Grade 12, B standing. Review how to qualify. If you answered No to the previous question, which of the seven methods of qualifying did you use (1-7)?

Do you have basic computer skills including knowledge of word processing, email, and the Internet? Do you have access to a computer with Internet capability that meets the technical requirements? Also, before you login for the first time, please verify your Internet browser.

The personal information on this form is collected under the authority of the Institute of Technology Act (RSBC 1996, ch. 225). BCIT will use and maintain the information for the purposes of admission, registration, and other fundamental activities related to attending courses of instruction in technological and vocational matters and subjects.

The program provided me with comprehensive knowledge in quality improvement, risk management, and information technology. I am an RN with 20 years of experience. Fellow students came from across Canada and included nurses, physicians, IT system analysts, pharmacists, and administrators. I conducted the Integrated Project course in my own workplace.
