Full-time studies
The BCIT School of Computing offers 7 different full time applied programs with multiple option paths.
All of our full-time programs are cohort-based and unlike university, BCIT students are placed into smaller groups called sets.
In School of Computing there are typically 20 students in each set who team though out the term, learning soft skills as well as hands-on technical courses.
Academic paths
The Computer Systems Technology Diploma, Bachelor of Technology Computer Systems and Computer Information Technology (CIT) diploma provide an applied, academic path into the information technology industry in less than 2 years each full time.
BCIT Diploma's and Bachelor's Degrees are industry recognized and provide a path for further academic and graduate studies.
Professional paths
For existing professionals we offer a variety of fast track career changing programs with industry credentials and partnerships.
High Tech Professional (HTP) programs are available in all sectors, including : networking and security, software and web development, technology support and end user computing.
HTP programs are all less than 1 year full time, provide industry certification and include work terms for actual job experience.
Part-time studies
School of Computing, Part time Studies offers over 120 individual courses every term in all IT sectors, with 4 term starts every year.
Students have scheduling options at our Burnaby and Downtown campuses with delivery on nights, weekends and during the day.
Most 'COMP' courses are for credit and are applicable towards over 11 BCIT credential programs part-time.
Students may complete an Associate Certificate in around 2 years or less and ladder into higher-level credentials including the CST/PTS Diploma and the Bachelor of Technology Degree in Computer Systems.
We offer bridges into full time and currently have over 5,000 students in part time COMP courses each year.
