Marketing Management Full-time Studies

In the first year, all Marketing Management students complete the same course of studies, covering general business and economic principles. In second year, students specialize in one of the following options:

Professional Real Estate

The Professional Real Estate program offers specialized training in the real estate brokerage industry, with an emphasis on current, practical skills.

Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship program lets you create a toolbox of business skills that can be applied in starting your own business, building a career in a growing company or playing a meaningful role in your family's business. The skills learned in this program are vital for the success of any business - large or small, local or global.

Marketing Communications

In conjunction with a solid foundation in marketing planning, you’ll receive specialized training in the planning, design and execution of Marketing Communications campaigns, and develop skill in areas such as public relations, event marketing, advertising, sales promotion and database marketing. The program includes a 10-week industry internship, which allows you to apply your skills while exposing you to career opportunities. This is an excellent option if you’d like to work at the 2010 Olympics.

Professional Sales and Marketing

Professional Sales and Marketing emphasizes transactional selling, problem-solution selling, consultative selling, sales negotiations, relationship selling, current issues in sales and sales management. The program also emphasizes the professional selling techniques required to present sophisticated products and services to professional buyers in areas such as the food & beverages industry, media & communications companies, industrial products, software companies, finance organizations, recruiting companies and many other organizations. All successful business organizations employ sales representatives in their marketing departments. There are thousands of excellent sales jobs; however, very few people are professionally trained in this exciting, fast-paced marketing environment.

Tourism Management

The Tourism Management program focuses on the business of tourism, and will prepare you for a leadership role in BC’s second-largest industry. A 10-week industry practicum lets you apply your skills and helps position you for future employment. Previous experience in tourism is an asset.
