Increasing collaboration between academic institutions and industry

The 2011 BCIT Applied Research Conference was held at the BCIT Burnaby campus, June 8 - 10.

Faculty, staff, students, government and funding agencies, and industry professionals learned about the latest trends, issues and best practices in applied research at BCIT and within British Columbia.

Conference networking events included lunch in the Telus Theatre, coffee breaks, and a BBQ at BCIT's Centre for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI). There was also a tour of the CARI facilities, and presentation displays highlighting student applied research projects being conducted at BCIT.

This event explored BCIT’s strategic goal to support research, networking, commercialization, knowledge mobilization and capacity building activities that will help to enhance an environment that fosters and encourages applied research projects and partnerships within British Columbia.
