Executive Committee

This committee is Chaired by the President, and is comprised of the Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, and Executive Director of the Alumni Association. It is responsible for setting direction for the Board, acting on the Board's behalf in between formal meetings, and monitoring the Association's governance issues.

Finance Committee

This committee ensures the long-term financial stability of the Association and is chaired by the Treasurer. It is responsible for preparing the annual budgets and financial statements, making application for charitable gaming revenue, financial planning, and affinity contract negotiations. This committee also reviews and makes recommendations to the Board regarding grant requests to the Association by alumni and other constituents.

Chair, Alumni Annual Appeal

This advisory role is held by one director (appointed by the Board annually) who provides advice and support to the BCIT Annual Giving Manager on alumni fundraising initiatives including annual phonathon and direct-mail appeals. The individual also engages in personal asks on behalf of the Alumni Appeal, in concert with the Manager, Annual Giving. The chair takes a leadership role in ongoing and high-profile recognition of alumni and organizations who donate to BCIT.

Marketing and Communications Advisory Council

This committee provides advice and support to the Alumni Relations Office on marketing and communications initiatives including profile-raising programs, image and design, newsletter, website and a host of other benefits and services for the benefit of alumni, the BCIT community and external community. This committee prepares an annual marketing plan to coordinate and monitor the success of all contacts with graduates.

Governance and Nominating Committee

Chaired by the Association's Past President, this committee is responsible for identifying and establishing the interest of Alumni Association members to serve as volunteers and representatives on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and other positions as requested by BCIT and external organizations. The Nominating Committee presents a slate of nominees to the membership at each AGM for open Director positions. The committee also nominates board members for executive positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) at the first board meeting following the AGM.

Special Events Committee

This committee raises awareness of the BCIT Alumni Association and increases active participation and support of BCIT and the BCIT Alumni Association through the planning and execution of special events aimed at current students, alumni and other constituent groups. This committee is also responsible for identifying and recruiting volunteers to represent the Alumni Association at Institute and community events.
