apply to a program :: full-time studies

Use the steps below as a guide for your program application.

Step One: Choose your program

You need to know what program you want to study before you can apply.

Step Two: Meet the entrance requirements

To be eligible for admission, you must meet the academic prerequisites and all other entrance requirements (located on the program details page) identified for the program you have chosen. If you are currently upgrading to meet entrance requirements, you can still apply. If you are unsure that you meet all requirements, submit your application and the Admissions department will notify you if you are missing any requirements.

Step Three: Prepare your application

Before submitting your application:

Step Four: Submit your application

Apply online
Apply online now via the BCIT Secure Information System:

  1. Create a new BCIT ID and password (if this is your first time attending BCIT). Save a written record of your ID and password codes.
  2. Add your personal and educational information. If you run out of time to finish, you can save an incomplete application and come back to it.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions for the remaining steps, which can include paying the application fee online via Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

After completing the online application process, don’t forget to submit your supporting documents by mail. All supporting documents must have our BCIT student number attached.

Apply by mail
Download and complete an Application for Admission form [PDF, 264 KB] and send it to the Admissions department with your application fee and supporting documents showing you meet your program’s entrance requirements.

Receive acknowledgment
If you apply on-line or by mail, an acknowledgment letter will be mailed to you within one week of BCIT receiving your application.

Step Five: Get feedback from Admissions

It will take two to eight weeks for the Admissions department to process and review your application. You can check that BCIT has received your application at any time using the Secure Information System.

When BCIT has reviewed your application, a letter will be sent explaining the status of your application. This letter will either ask you for additional information or inform you of the decision on your application.

  • A full offer of admission means you have completely met BCIT and program admission criteria, and a seat has been reserved for you in your selected program.
  • A provisional offer of admission means you have shown to BCIT's satisfaction that you are in the process of fulfilling admission criteria and you will meet all requirements by 30 days before the start of the program. Once you have provided the Admissions staff with official proof that you have met all outstanding requirements, you will be offered full admission.
  • Non-acceptance means you have not been selected to receive a full or provisional Offer of Admission, or the program is full and closed (i.e., all seats and any wait-lists are full), or both.

To accept your offer of admission, you must pay the fee specified in your letter.
